Felicia Serna ran away from her pack—more specifically her Alpha and his horrid behavior—to a war zone. But after two years away, she’s returned and knows she must face her possible punishment for defying him. Only it isn’t her Alpha or his men that are waiting for her when she returns. It’s Alaric! The man who fuels her fantasies!
Alaric knew he would make Felicia his mate from the moment he saw her, but she was too young at the time to do anything about it. So he made her Alpha aware of his intentions and waited. Only her Alpha wasn’t about to give her up…so when she came home to Alabama he made sure he was there to claim her!
Ms. Reus’ Protector’s Mate is well written and very tastefully executed. Certainly more than just an erotic romance. I will certainly read more by this author in the future. Her hero was strong without being overbearing and her heroine was the perfect mix of strong, independent woman and damsel in distress. The only negative comment I have is that there wasn’t a longer story!

“…sweetly romantic and full of emotion.”
Splendid from page one, Annie West gives you a priceless royal romance full of betrayal, scandal and hot attraction!
Prince Raul must marry in order to take over the thrown after his father’s death. Betrayed by his father and a former lover, Raul is bitter and hasn’t the time or inclination for romance. So what better to satisfy his need than the arranged marriage to Luisa?
Their marriage was agreed upon by their families when they were teens, and is the perfect solution to Raul’s problems. The story is based on the two journeying into love and trust of one another. It’s sweetly romantic and full of emotion. Any West fan will put this one on their keeper shelf!
“…I was expecting something more…”
Heather Graham’s new series centered around a secret government unit formed by paranormal investigator, Adam Harrison, sets off all kinds of intriguing questions about the ever-fabulous city of New Orleans. Adam brings together a team who have never met, some without police or other formal investigative training, to help a powerful Senator prove that ghosts are responsible for his wife’s death.
Headed by FBI Special Behavioral Unit Leader, Jackson Crow, the team comes together to prove while ghosts might exists, it’s man who commits the evil lurking in dark places.
Due to experience and age, second in command is police woman, Angela Hawkins. She’s especially gifted at sensing and seeing paranormal elements. She’s also beautiful, and though she has tragic past, is open to possibilities where Jackson is concerned.
Ms. Graham introduces you to the other members of the team—the “kids” as Jackson and Angela call them. They each hold special skills of their own though not in law enforcement.
The story itself is unique and well thought out. If I had read this as a mainstream story—outside the romance genre—I’d have easily given it a 5…but as a romance, it was lacking for me. The entire story was so wrapped up in the ‘plot’ and ‘series’ set up that I felt Jackson and Angela didn’t receive their due. They fell into bed with one another quickly and easily. No conflict between them and no promise for a future, really.
There is another ‘mission’ hinted at near the end, so we might see those two develop more of a relationship in future books, but I was expecting something more on the lines of THE KEEPERS and just didn’t get it here.
I will certainly give another Krewe of Hunters book a read, but I am so hoping it has more romance!

“…one of the most endearing tales I’ve read in a long time.”
Intensely emotional, Kate Walker’s The Proud Wife turns a red-hot love affair with devastating loss into one of the most endearing tales I’ve read in a long time. Filled to the brim with gut wrenching confusion and love, this story allows you to see how miscommunication and circumstances can often cause people who rush head first into marriage to need a break to find perspective. What it also shows is that often first instincts can be just the ticket.
Sicilian Tycoon Pietro D’Inzeo knew he wanted Marina at their first meet, and an unplanned pregnancy certainly gave him the excuse he needed to push their affair to the next level–only circumstances cause the two to separate. But after two years when they’re about to make their divorce final, they realize it’s near impossible to really let each other go!
Ms. Walker’s voice rings proud and true in The Proud Wife–a must-read in my book!
