The Review…
Northern Fascination, Jennifer LaBrecque’s latest Alaskan Heat series book, brings together Jenna Rathburne and Logan Jeffries in a ‘the one who got away’ type romance. While certainly not as strong as the other Alaskan Heat books, I felt the story was a nice enough read. Though these types of books have been done a bit much for my taste, Ms. LaBrecque’s excellent writing style kept me entertained and reading through to the end.
In a more detailed examination, though I did feel the story lacked a real conflict and was more of a misunderstanding situation which was rectified quickly. But the story is written with such distinctive prose that I still enjoyed watching the two work through their attraction and come together in the end.
If you’re a fan of the Alaskan Heat books, you won’t want to miss this one if for no other reason than there are so many familiar, intriguing characters to catch up with. In fact, there’s even a little sub-plot dealing with Dr. Skye’s assistant that is very sensual, very interesting—so much so that it almost overshadows Jenna and Logan’s story…which is why I’ve only rated the book 3 out of 5 stars. I would have liked a heavier conflict and more focus on the main couple. But overall, the book wasn’t bad and I can’t wait to read the next book!

Back in Georgia, Jenna Rathburne was known as just "the pretty blonde." Still, when her high school crush comes to Good Riddance, Jenna knows her own expectations—and her self-control—are about to get seriously tested…
Geologist Logan Jeffries is in Alaska on business. Specifically, to buy out the town of Good Riddance for a mining company. It’s a fantastic offer…if only he could get someone interested in it! But someone is very interested in Logan—and he doesn’t need a science degree to know his chemistry with Jenna is off the charts. And the longer he stays, the harder it is to say so long to Good Riddance…
